Hello,

The Act on Art gallery is sad to announce the disappearance of the painter

Nelson dias lopes

We dedicate this Newsletter to him to pay tribute to him.

His work was nourished by strong images of his beloved Brazil and his studies as an architect. Architect and painter, these two professions were inseparable for him. Assemblies and reliefs occupy an important part of his work (architectural obsession with 3D?). His painting offers a powerful contrast between the rigor of the structure of the work, very often predominantly vertical (still reminiscent of the architect?), And the exuberance in the juxtaposition of forms and borrowed patterns ... evocation of the baroque of his native country.
If Paris had become his city, his life, part of his heart had always beaten in Rio: he often returned there in search of his Brazilian oxygen.

His works are at the MNBA-National Museum of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro and in France at the International Contemporary Art Fund in Busigny, Nord Pas de Calais.

EXHIBITION OF THE MONTH

Rodin Museum, Paris.

"PICASSO-RODIN"
Until January 02, 2022

For the first time, the Musée Rodin and the Musée national Picasso-Paris are joining forces to present the “Picasso-Rodin” exhibition-event.

This exceptional partnership between two large monographic museums offers a unique perspective on these genius artists who paved the way for modernity in art. Their masterpieces are presented simultaneously in the two historic monuments that house these national museums.

The exhibition invites a cross-reading of the works of Rodin (1840-1917) and Picasso (1881-1973), these two great artists who have permanently upset the artistic practices of their time for generations to come. It is not a question of showing what Picasso borrowed from Rodin, but rather of examining the significant convergences which appear between Rodin's work and several periods of Picasso's production.
