Biography
Laurence de Marliave trained at the Higher School of Graphic Art Penninghen and a graduate of the National School of Fine arts of Paris 1991.
Painter and engraver recognized in France and abroad by numerous exhibitions (France, Russia, Italy, Belgium, China, Korea), Laurence de Marliave's work revolves around several themes: reflections in the windows, passage, report "inside, outside," the city, the gardens, the travel journals.
What strikes the eye in the canvases or watercolors by Laurence de Marliave, it is undoubtedly the light that emanates from it. She is omnipresent in her work on reflections in the windows and in its scenery. And underpinned by a rigorous composition and shimmering colors.
Laurence de Marliave, enamored of freedom is a globe trotter and walks a little in the footsteps of her great uncle François de Marliave, orientalist painter and great traveler. His travel journal take us to India, Russia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Greece or North Africa to discover the other, culture, beauty.

Laurence de Marliave, in addition to her professional activity as a painter and engraver has created and directs in Paris, the Star workshops who train around a hundred students of all ages each year in drawing and painting techniques. The activity of these workshops began on September 11, 2001… a date which is so symbolic which again shows that in the midst of the darkness of this evocative date already and again the light dear to Laurence de Marliave was showing…
