Biography
Jean-Pierre Tanguy, painter, engraver and mosaicist, was born on November 10, 1945 in Paris.
From an early age, he was drawn to the visual arts.
This vocation still animates him today.

He then became the assistant to Jacques Lagrange, then to Jean-Marie Gravier, successive managers of the ENSBA engraving workshop.
A few years later, Tanguy was appointed professor responsible for the engraving workshop at the Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Along with his work as a teacher, he builds his work (pastels, watercolors, oils on canvas) inspired by his travels and his encounters. He was attracted to the work of painters such as Maurice Estève, Nicolas de Staël or Pierre Soulages, painters who would influence his work.
In 1988, a major exhibition was dedicated to him at the Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris.
Since then, his work has been presented in numerous contemporary art fairs and numerous exhibitions in France and abroad.
His works are present in important art collections around the world.
