Biography
Born in 1986, Nelly Stetenfeld graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2012. In 2011, she received the Van Zeeland Prize from the Academy of Fine Arts in engraving. From 2013 to 2014 she was an artist member of the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid. Currently a member of the Dufraine Foundation, she continues her research and work in the artistic residence of the Villa des Pinsons.
About my research:
The animal is at the center of my work. Selected according to aesthetic, emotional or symbolic criteria, each animal is brought to pass through the prism of the ideal. It is then transcribed into another form of reality governed by my own codes. Through this work, I develop a dreamlike and personal mythology in order to compose my identity.

Describing and collecting, I try to add to the cartography of the real world that of the lands of dreams, a world of metamorphosis in perpetual mutations.
Each of these works allows me to add a new line to the paragraph of the artistic and personal universe that I undertake to write: a poetic and floating universe, anchored in our reality while responding to a different world order, in which I wish to immerse the spectator, even to bring him to take an active part.
