Hello

”What is blue? Blue is invisible in the visible,… Blue has no dimension. It is beyond the dimensions in which the other colors participate. ” Yves Klein

To introduce this journey into the world of blues, we offer you this text by Philip Ball:

What, about blue, has so constantly attracted painters? His majesty, of course; his melancholy, certainly; and also its mystery. According to Kandinsky: “The power of deep understanding is found in blue […] Blue is the heavenly color in essence. The ultimate sensation it creates is that of rest. When it becomes dark almost to black, it echoes a pain of human duration. "...

KDOM's latest book (Olivia Koudrine) comes out on May 12, 2021.
Intimate, fierce and funny story of a twenty-year-old girl, "The Beaten Man" is the story of an ordinary family.
An authoritarian and manipulative mother, a weak and withdrawn father… Justine delves into her memories and tries to find her place in a world of pretense, stupefied by the ready to think. Surprising, elusive, endearing, the young woman embodies, without claiming it and perhaps without knowing it, the figure of an enlightened feminism.Olivia Koudrine has published two plays, Prélude (2007) and Le Garrot du silence (2009) with L'Œil du Prince editions, and, at seeks noon, Barby Blue (2013), La Serpente (2015), as well as De Cinq à Sept (2018) which is the subject of a film adaptation.Discover his paintings on our site: ActOnArt

EXHIBITION OF THE MONTH

At the Montmartre Museum in Paris.

Dufy

”Le Paris de Dufy” until September 12, 2021

“The collective memory retains from Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) the dexterity of his line, the balance of his compositions, his talent as a colorist, his sense of synthesis and his monumental Fairy Electricity ; and under the pen of the critics, to characterize his work, the words of charm, distinction, lightness, elegance, freshness imposed themselves on the common sensibility.

The exhibition takes you in the footsteps of this young Norman artist who, getting off his train at Gare Saint-Lazare, discovers the capital at the start of the XNUMXth century and, from the top of the Butte Montmartre, the Parisian panorama whose landscape bristling with its monuments will not leave him until his death. The Montmartre Museum's ambition, with this exhibition, is to show and study the choice of the theme of Paris as a motif in the artist's work: a subject which, despite the many exhibitions dedicated to Raoul Dufy, no 'has never been treated until today. ”
