- In this beautiful season of “Sakura * " and of "Hanami ** ”we are pleased to introduce you to a new artist from the gallery: Baba Limousin,whose incredible talent has been able to combine in an aesthetic research, the beauty of old Japanese calligraphy paper with the abstract forms of contemporary art.

(**) Hanami: Japanese tradition which consists in appreciating the beauty of cherry blossoms.

Baba Limousin:Restorer of Far Eastern art objects, and specialist in old Japanese screens. She creates contemporary paintings and screens, integrating old Japanese calligraphy papers recovered from the quilts, the backgrounds are painted with pigments sometimes enhanced with gold or silver leaf. Contemporary screens with figurative or abstract decorations are assembled using traditional techniques. ”Baba Limousin takes our look from behind the scenes, that of XNUMXth century Japanese screens. She surrounds it with abstract forms, a new abstraction, golden brown shadow and light sometimes blue or a touch of red. The reverse has once again become the place as at its origin, a paper track on which the traces of brushes dipped in ink from the East mixed with that from the West dance. ”
