After school Fine Arts of Rennes, then his admission to the Académie de France in Rome and the Italian stay at the Villa Medici, Dominique le marois had a rare job. A prestigious professional life as a graphic art restorer, punctuated by interventions on the collections the most famous, those the Palazzo Farnese in Rome, the castle of Chantilly or in Paris those ofschool of fine arts, the Louvre and Orsay, …. to be limited to public funds. Yes, he manipulated in the nude, among many others, theworks by Raphaël, Michel-Ange, Gericault, David, Delacroix, .... In parallel with these exceptional works, his personal drawings display loyalty to nature, a constant attraction for the rough material of granites, those of the mountain ranges and more particularly of the Armorican massif on the north coast of theUshant island, around Créac'h and Nividic. He endeavors to represent these mineral masses, but with his drawings they are no longer fragmented clusters, barriers, cushions, sharp pinnacles but identifiable or fabulous animals, monsters or reptiles, beings with beaks and strange limbs, to say nothing of the remains of forts, ruined castles, narrow platforms and crenellated platforms. The attention to detail of so many pebbles leads to dreams, opens the way to the imagination… ..

After the School of Fine Arts in Rennes then his admission to the Academy of France in Rome and the Italian stay at the Villa Medici, Dominique le marois worked in a rare profession.
